I want to express my deep appreciation and gratefulness for the break through you have done in my life. I just began listening to your show last Thursday and have honestly recieved more healing and deliverance from your message, than I have working with my church, a professional therapist and reading every self-help book I could get my hands on for over a year now!
About a year in a half ago, I experienced my first real heartbreak after being cheated on and then left for another woman. Since then I have literally beaten myself up everyday wrecking my brain for the answers and closure my boyfriend did not give me. (You see, his idea of closure was: "You're…

“Hey Dedan! I was at Sade's concert this weekend and saw this lady in the crowd and thought of you when my boyfriend leaned over to me and said, "I'm so glad you are a classy & beautiful lady. That woman over there has low self-esteem written all over her." Funny thing is, I WAS that lady 10 years ago when I thought putting it all there was how to get "attention." You're right...self-reflection is key!”Posted by Dedan Tolbert on September 20, 2011 at 8:32pm
Thanks to you I did pay for the first date w/a gentleman I'm interested in & he said I was the first woman to ever do that. The smile on his face showed his appreciation, but more than anything I appreciated the time he took out of his busy schedule to even want to take me out to dinner so I felt it was the least I could do. He's such a hard working, go getter and I appreciate his sense of dedication and love for his family.
So since I love to cook that's one of the best things I can think to do for him when he has a moment to sit still between work & sleep that I often prepare home-cooked meals for him. He looked at me one day & told me he swore he'd never get married again but…

I owe u so much but I know all I have to do in favor is respect myself keep my legs closed! I finally see why u say what you say! You feel so much better cause when u give ur body away its like giving your soul away! When u do it freely for any man it causes hurt and pain and the expectations of u thinking another man can heal what the other destroyed! You will be counseling my daughter in years to come :) ♥

Just thought we let you guys know we truly appreciate all the advice you've given throughout the pass year. My sister and I have been listening for a while, and though we are in college, we take each and every lesson you and Jerald discuss on the show, and apply it to our lives.
(Being emotionally available, keeping our legs closed, paying for the first date, & setting ourselves apart) Just to name a few.
Those friends we share your advice with think we are crazy of course, and that's cool. (They'll learn…

I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate you and the other men on the Dedan Tolbert Show.
Just today I was thinking that you are all like the brothers we women wish we had. You guys are so honest and direct....and so bold and confident in your discourse. Thank God I found this show because I had given up thinking that men like you all still existed.
Please continue speaking the…

"I think your advice is positive Dedan, and it's the absolute truth. You and Jerald are like the big brothers I never had. I like the fact that you all don't sugar coat anything. Black women need to LISTEN! You and Jerald are only trying to help and empower black women and show us how to receive the love we ultimately want. And for that I say "Thankyou" Dedan and Jerald."
